STAR WARS EPISODE ONE: The Phantom MenaceI have seen this film twice now and despite a few minor let downs, I thouroughly enjoyed it and reccomend it to anyone who likes Science Fiction and effects movies. DID YOU KNOW: + A freak sand storm blew up while they were filming in Tunisia and it levelled all the sets and props. Somehow, they managed to get back on schedule though! + A pyrotechnic explosion went off incorrecctly and injured actress Natalie Portman's eye! She was okay though.. + Episodes 2 and 3 are to be filmed in OZ. Australia was chosen because of our ace crews and production facilities. Yay! Maybe I can get a part in one as an extra!!!???? + The entire film was financed by George Lucas himself. He paid for all 115 million dollars worth and never had to give much to anyone else. His own companies, ILM and Skywalker sound did the effects and sound andd Lucasfilm made it.He basically passed the money from his left hand to his right if you know what I mean. + Industrial Light and Magic, Lucas' effects company, put together over 2000 effects shots for The Phantom menace and they all look great!Only one scence that to the trained eye looks a bit phoney.... more info on this to come.....! THE PHANTOM MENACE: GENRE: science fiction STARS: 4 out of 5 PACE: 4 out of 5 YOU SHOULD KNOW: Suitable for the whole family, but probably not real littlies. Is a prequel to the original films... STAR WARS, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RETURN OF THE JEDI. N.B.I don't know about any of this technical law stuff but I gladly acknowledge George Lucas and Lucasfilm and whoever else for Star Wars. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

MISTAKES IN THE STAR WARS FILMS... N.B. I love the star wars movies and only put this info up for fun. I am not trying to defame the SW saga or make it look bad. Believe me, I love those movies !!!!! | STAR WARS: A NEW HOPEIn the opening sequence, the laser blast totally misses the Rebel Alliance space ship but an explosion still goes off on top. EMPIRE STRIKES BACK In one scene, a star destroyer, while chasing the Millenium Falcon, fires laser blasts at asteroids to avoid hitting them. One asteroid explodes before the laser blast hits it.In Luke's final confrontation with Darth Vader at the end, Vader swings and cuts a piller in half but his lightsaber never touches the pillar. THE CUBE ( Australia, Canberra only) The cube is an awesome little film which is showing now at Electric Shadows in Civic. It is an unsettling but though provoking film about six strangers who wake up inside a maze of three dimesional cubes and can't get out. They struggle to be free andd deal with their feelings and their lives in the outside world. SEE IT IF YOU CAN! GENRE: Science fiction STARS: 4 out of 5 PACE: 3 out of 5 YOU SHOULD KNOW: It's quite gory and not for little kids. Also quite violent.
